[glow=red,2,300]Heath Ledger 1979 - 2008[/glow]
Can I say how shocked I was to hear of Heath Ledger's death? While not a manic fan of his, I did enjoy his work and I'm really looking forward to seeing him as the Joker in the new Batman. But I guess the harder thing to wrap my mind around is that he was my age, had a beautiful daughter, and a thriving career. I'm not convinced that it was suicide - nothing I've heard has suggested to me that he was on the verge. It'll be a little wierd watching him in an upcoming movie, especially in a dark role that's supposed to be phenomenal. It's just very sad to me that this has happened and I felt that he should be mentioned on our page.
Partial film list: 10 Things I Hate About You The Patriot A Knight's Tale Monster's Ball The Four Feathers The Order The Brothers Grimm Brokeback Mountain Casanova The Dark Knight

I don't want to get into all that stuff the media is stirring up about Heath Ledger but I do have some thoughts on the matter. I really don't believe that he took his own life... and I like to hope not. It does seem that he was so wrapped up in his work that he may have been way over stressed. I can relate to his situation in that respect. I have had to take a lot of medications not only for my RA but for anxiety and stress. While I don't condone the recreational use of any drugs I do understand how good people get into situations where they may take things they shouldn't... whether it's physical or mental pain we are in the world sometimes looks down upon us for taking pills, legal or otherwise. Yeah, from some of the information coming out from people who knew him - like Jack Nicholson, who said "I warned him... I warned him", it does seem that Heath may have been taking stuff that he shouldn't have. But, he also had pneumonia at the time of his death and was severely stressed from his work and who knows what in his personal life. I kind of personally take offense to the media making him out to be a loser because he had six or so bottles of pills near him when he died. Crap! do these people not take antibiotics, pain and cough medicine when they have pneumonia? Six bottles of pills do not make one a drug addict - These are all my current prescriptions. I certainly don't take everyone everyday but I do have them and I am the about as far from being an addict as a person can get. I guess I just wish the press would leave people alone sometimes. The mistakes Heath Ledger made in his life are between him and his Maker just like the rest of us and there is no need for him to be judged by anyone else. If it is shown that he had illegal drugs in his system - Then at least it might cause a kid or two to think twice about going down that road. Well, I've had my little say and I intend to enjoy what works he left us with and leave his private life to his family and the Good Lord - which is what he'd want I'm sure. Here are pics of Heath from my two favorite films he was in... The Patriot and A Knight's Tale.

I completely agree with you MIB. It's terrible to hear some of the things they've speculated about Heath Ledger and pass it like it's actual news. There has still been nothing conclusive and when they say terrible things like he was an addict and he was caving to the pressures of stardom, what the jib do you gain from saying all that? The people who are watching the news for Heath are his fans, they don't want to hear news reporters casting him like some drug fiend when nothing has been proven.
I hope he didn't take his own life, I really don't. I always thought Heath to be very level-headed and down to Earth. If he did, well then there you go. What are we going to do about it? He was taken far too soon and he was only getting better as the years passed by. I hope he's going to blow us all away in the Dark Knight.
