My friend Michael and I recently took a trip to the Schiele Museum of Natural History for their Rock and Mineral show. I came away with a much greater appreciation for the beauty of minerals and quite a few interesting pictures... The Museum entrance... I love this statue! Guarding the Gate - This grizzly cast of a T-Rex stands watch just inside the museum The museum is home to a few artifacts from the movie Cast AwayMegalodon Teeth This is what a Meg tooth does to a whale vertebrae! We paid a couple bucks extra to see the mammoth exhibit - "Tusks" The cool dude in the edge of the picture was the speaker. Michael checking out the museum's own stunning mineral display The official fly of AFAP... the Dragonfly The guest's displays were all amazing! It ain't fried chicken! Outside there were a number of historical buildings and replicas including a Catawba Village MIB Tourista! Michael and Barney Jr? I had no idea rocks and minerals could be so breathtaking... below is a sampling from my Rocks and Minerals photo gallery Check out the whole gallery Here It's fun to think of what each specimen resembles... this one looks like sleeping polar bears The Fortress of Solitude Carrot cake with cinnamon I call this one "Monkey Brain"
