It is always a pleasure to hear that choir live. If any of you ever make it to Utah on a sunday, at 8:30 am at Temple Square in the Tabernacle, you can listen to a practice performance, and then the actual broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word, the longest running broadcast. It's been a weekly broadcast basically since the radio arrived in Utah, and is both on radio and on TV here. They sing inspirational songs and there's also an inspirational story in the center. It's really wonderful, and it makes it fun trying to find my husband's cousin, Bonnie, who is in the Choir. I can't believe that this sunday, Daisy has her first birthday already. We're having ice cream and cake at a park for the party.

Man it's been a while since I've had the time to visit here. Daisy's birthday was great. She loves to swing. With the Olympics going on, it has been affecting my family a bit. Tori remembers watching the divers 4 years ago, when he was only 3, and saying "Weeee! Splash" while watching them. He's doing that again. Scotty ran to the backyard today to the swingset. He grabbed onto the 'swinging bar' as I call it, and hanging under it was swinging around (A 4-year-old version of the rings event). This morning, I had Daisy on my bed. She went to a corner that had nothing in the way, like my legs, and she lay down on her tummy and did a swimming motion. Perhaps I have a couple of future olympians on my hands, and a supportive big brother. Not long ago, my husband left for work. There was a problem though. His mom parked in an odd way that he didn't dare pull out without help. So, I grabbed a couple of lightsabers and, like an airplane director, I directed him out of the driveway. With a green and a red lightsaber. I'm still a Star Wars nut!!!!!

Sounds like you've got a house full of fun, 4C!!! Glad Daisy's birthday was good. Sadie liked the Olympics too - especially the gymnastics and diving. Anytime anyone did anything she cheered with the crowd!!! And she liked watching the splashing/diving - must be a kid thing, huh?

I'm sorry I've been gone so long. Been busy with a sucky work schedule that keeps me away from my kids most of the day. I'm lucky to see them 3 hours before they go to bed. That should change soon though. I've put in a form to change my availability.
I was also away to Vegas for a few days with my husband, and had a power steering leak once we got down there. Now that I'm back from that, everyone in my household have gotten sick, and this week, it's grabbed me. Not fun.
Though the other day at work, we had some excitement. I work in a tire and lube express. After one car was done, it was parked and slipped out of gear. It rolled, jumped a curb and ended out in the ditch. And this ditch is not a little thing. It swallowed up the entire car with room to spare. The owner was not happy...they got the breaks fixed the day before! Talk about bad day for them.

Hey, 4C! I've been missing around here myself. I just needed an AFAP break. I've been at it here for so long and then it got kind of dead so I just took a break for awhile.
We actually have a new board called The Black Hole - The link is on our affiliates table. I'm not sure if you'd be interested in it, it is a bit more edgy than here. I've done my best to keep AFAP family friendly and the Black Hole is more PG-13. But, you are welcome to join up... that's where we've all been at lately.
Maybe we can get the old AFAP back up and going again now...

I'll have to take a look at it, MIB. You'll never guess what's been going on with me. Unfortunately, it's not all good. The bad: At work, I tried to put in a change of availability so I'm not away from my family so late at night. I put I'm not available on Sundays, they wouldn't accept it. As a result, I'm working every sunday now, even being scheduled outside the time I say I AM available. I'm working with higher-ups in regards to that.
A week ago Sunday, I pulled a ligament in my left foot. I called in the next day, my foot hurt badly. I was crying trying to put on my shoe. I went to the doctor and spent the rest of the day with my foot up. I've missed a couple of days to keep my foot up, and I'm forced to slow down a lot, but it is getting gradually better.
But, now that my foot's not hurting as much, I've got a cold. My voice is threatening to go away.
Now some good news: Tori, my oldest boy (7) has progressed enough with large motor skills that the physical therapist that's been helping those skills improve says he's far enough along he doesn't need physical therapy any more and will spend more time in class working on academics. (Tori's about a school year behind other kids his age.)
Scotty, my 4-year-old, is talking more. He still prefers to baby babble more than talk. He's also great with helping out. He always keeps an eye out for Daisy, and loves to help cook. He even carries heavy things in from the car after a shopping trip. Well, heavy for him, anyway.
Daisy is getting more teeth, she's got molars. Talking to her with yes/no questions, she can communicate very well. She is so cute when she says "uh-oh!" and all the other things she says. She's also taken as many as 8 independant steps without falling over or holding things. Every day, she practices walking. Soon, we're really going to be in trouble. We can't keep her in a high chair or a shoppingcart, even with the seatbelt on her! She just squirms right out of it! And she tries to climb over the baby gate too!
All three of the kids are growing every day and really help me emotionally, if nothing else.
