HORRAY! She's finally here! I was so glad to read that Sadie is here! That girl sure was stubborn to have to come C-section. I think if it was up to her, she would have preferred to stay inside mommy a lot longer. How's Hermy doing after the experience? I bet she's glad to be able to hold Sadie, but she's going to be a while recovering. Even a normal delivery takes some time to recover. One baby born...one more to go. ;D

Yay! We have a Sadie!!! Just thought I'd drop by and share the official story... for those who are interested!!!
We went to the hospital Tuesday morning at 7:00, got checked in and all that jazz. By 9:00, I was started on the drug to induce me. I started contractions which were uncomfortable but not terrible. I dilated to 3cm. That was it. At noon, there still wasn't any change, so the doctor broke my water for me and got me up to 5cm. Contractions got worse. By four o'clock, when there was still no change I got the epidural I didn't want. But I am SO glad that I did. Even though I proceeded to have an unfavorable reaction to it, had to be given drugs to counteract the reaction, taken off the epidural, taken off the induction drug, then slowly put back on everything. My blood pressure had dropped too low and that wasn't good for me or Sadie.
So they started me back on all the drugs, but I never dilated any further. At 2:30am, they took me off the induction drugs again to give me and Sadie a rest. They put me back on at 4:00, but there still was no progress. So I had a c-section at 6:31AM Wednesday morning. Kwasi was wonderful and stayed with me the whole time, holding my hand and being totally wonderfully supportive. We finally got to see the little girl we'd been waiting on and Kwasi got to hold her. He held her over to me so I could kiss her then they all left and I had to go to recovery.
FINALLY at about 8:30, I got to hold Sadie! She is absolutely perfect and wonderful and beautiful. All the nurses fell in love with her!!! We left the hospital yesterday and got home about 4:30. Had a great first night home and we are looking forward to many, many more!!! Even though it was quite an ordeal and I'm still in a bit of pain, it was SO worth it!!!
Thanks to everyone who kept us in their thoughts and prayers - they paid off!!! We will be putting up some pictures soon, I hope. The hospital has a website with her picture on it, but it's not up yet. I'll pass it on when it's ready!!!

That sounds like quite an ordeal. All that work to have her the way nature intended and nothing to really show for it. I am glad to hear that you and Sadie are recovering from it. When my first one was born, I was shaking so much afterwards I was afraid I would drop him if I did hold him. It was nice seeing my mom hold her new little grandson in the rocking chair. She was the first one (besides the doctors and nurses) to hold him, and she was beaming.

Hey guys... thought I'd take the chance to give everyone an update. OldSkool is watching Sadie while she naps so I have a moment to myself!!!
First of all, we are all doing wonderful! Sadie went to her first pediatrician's appointment last Monday and had already gained back all the weight she lost in the hospital. The doctor said she was doing really well. I went back to see my doctor Wednesday and I was doing well also. My mom was here the last week and left today - that was priceless!!! She was so much help. Now it's just me and OldSkool! But he is so great with her that I know we'll be okay.
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that there is a link to Sadie's hospital pic on our babysite. Check it out! (Although, she's already changing!)
Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Great to read the update. It's wonderful that you're both doing well and you had a good weekend. It doesn't take very long for babies to change and grow. Before you know it, she'll be crawling around...and walking. Continue to recover, take care of yourself and Sadie, but most of all, yourself. If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. And if Mama ain't feeling good, Mama ain't happy.

I know that I've been totally out of it lately, and surely don't have much sense to begin with... but... where is the link to the babysite? Lol... I'm still waiting for you to bring the new little munchkin up to see us. We came by your way last weekend on the way to take Marii to the zoo for her birthday. I was planning to maybe call you and have lunch or something together with us so that we could meet Sadie... but when we got to Shelby, Marii hit a nail and we wound up waiting at Walmart for almost 4 hrs for those... well... people to put a new tire on. So at that point we had to do the old 85 on 85 routine if you know what I mean. Anyways we are still thinking of you and your new family often and are looking forward to getting our kids together. Hmm... that will be weird huh? Us kids getting our kids together

Awww your baby is so cute Hermy!!! She is totally adorable. This pic is a little funny though because she has her fist balled up like she could punch someone in the nose. Anyway, its just my wacky sense of humor coming out. Please dont take offense. She is too cute!!

Sadie is adorable, Hermy. A lot cuter than what I dreamed my baby was like last night. Dreams can be crazy. Daisy was no bigger than a small cat, and wrinkly and pink, but incredibly strong and active for her size. By the end of the dream, she'd transformed into a long hair grey tabby cat!
You can probably tell I'm getting anxious about having Daisy. If I have her in a month, she will not be a preemie.
